Oluwafemi Awopegba is a Development Economist and a PhD Candidate at the University of Manitoba, Canada. He has expertise in designing macroeconomic frameworks and models
for development policy and perspective planning. Using economic impact assessment frameworks, he provided timely policy advice to governments in Nigeria and Canada during the crises moments of COVDI-19 and 2025 Global tariff threat periods. Oluwafemi has also contributed to translating the federal government of Nigeria’s digital economy vision into actionable state-level playbooks. He is currently the coordinator for the Young Scholars Initiative, Africa Working Group, INET. He is also deeply committed to student engagement and mentoring, inspiring young scholars across Canada, Africa and beyond, to constructively push the boundaries of economic thought and policy for a more collective, equitable and sustainable global future.
