Lydia Toluwanimi Adeoye is a Graduate Teaching Assistant and a doctoral student at the Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh. She is also an Associate member of the Accounting Technicians West Africa (AATWA), student member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and a member of the Young Scholars Initiative (YSI) of the Institute of New Economic Thinking (INET). Lydia’s keen interest in the development of Africa as a continent and Nigeria as a country has motivated her research engagement in the areas of development, health, education, and public policy. She is skillful at micro-econometric analysis and has participated in projects funded by both local and international organizations, examples which are; A study funded by DFID/Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine on “Developing a costing tool for Neglected Tropical Disease (NTD) implementation in Nigeria” a sub-study of the COUNTDOWN project. She also participated in a capacity building project funded by UNICEF on the Situational Analysis of Women and Children in Southwestern Nigeria. Her wealth of experience as a Knowledge Management Officer at the Nigerian Institute of Social Economic Research sharpened her knowledge management, policy writing, stakeholders’ engagement, and advocacy skills which she desires to utilize in driving sustainable change across Africa.
